About Banana travel

Welcome to Banana Travel, a locally owned travel company based in Luang Prabang, we create real opportunities for support poor people for study.  And happy travel

We  use responsible tourism to support poor communities, create local jobs, and bring hope to families with limited access to education and employment. Through community-based travel experiences, we connect visitors with local people in a respectful and meaningful way while helping communities build stronger and more sustainable futures.

Banana Travel was founded by people who grew up in communities where poverty, limited education, and lack of opportunity were part of everyday life. Seeing these challenges inspired a vision for tourism that gives back to the people who need it most.

With experience in guiding and tourism, the founders believed that well-managed tourism could become a powerful tool for change — creating income for families, supporting children’s education, and helping communities grow with dignity.

Today, every journey with Banana Travel is more than a tour. It is a shared experience that supports local livelihoods, strengthens communities, and helps create a better future for the next generation.

Mr. Seuk Sivilaiphone

Born into a rural family on the outskirts of Luang Prabang, Seuk spent 10 years as a novice monk before earning a degree in accounting. His life experience gave him a deep understanding of hardship, discipline, and the importance of education.

His passion for working with both tourists and local people inspired him to become a freelance tour guide and later build Banana Travel. Seuk is committed to using tourism as a tool to support rural education, create jobs, and empower disadvantaged communities.

His dream is simple but powerful: to help children from poor families and communities with limited educational opportunities access schooling, give families sustainable income opportunities by helping them sell local products in the city, and use tourism to build a better future for local people — with dignity, respect, and hope.

Morning Alms Giving Experience
